Radio 4

BBC radio 4 is a British radio station owned and operated by the BBC. radio 4 showcases a wide variety of radio programmes from comedy to drama, science and history. Radio 4 has been on air for over 54 years with its first air date being 30 September 1967 furthermore with over 11 million listeners nationwide radio 4 is the second most popular radio station in the Uk. BBC radio 4 is mainly funded by tv licenses which everyone in the Uk has a right and duty to pay. 

DEMOGRAPHICS

Radio 4 has of 11 million listeners with the average age of the audience being 56 years old with 49% of the audience being male and 51% of the audience being female. As for ethnicity radio 4 is very diverse with different ethnic hosts for various different shows such as Women's hour which is hosted by Sarah brown who is a black-African female host furthermore radio 4 has pick of the week which is hosted by Guvna b and many more hosts 

LIFESTYLE

BBC Radio 4 has a very specific type of audience. radio 4 provides to fit its audiences style this is because we see that there is programs about agriculture and animals furthermore we notice that there is a lot of shows dedicated to politics and economics we also notice that history documentaries are also broadcast.

 LISTENING FIGURES 

RADIO 4 is one of the oldest radio stations. This has allowed them to gain a huge audience number. Radio 4 has over 10.8 million listeners furthermore it has stations that are reaching millions of listeners at one time. 

Radio 4 starts off with is early radio stations which range from the news to catch up furthermore it also broadcasts history documentaries and animal stations 

carrying on through the day radio 4 then plays its morning stations which range from news, documentaries and general entertainment to match  its audience 

as we go to the afternoon you can see that there is range of different stations broadcasting a range of different things from fashion to food to documentaries furthermore we see that there is also political stations being played as well to suit every persons need 

And finally radio 4 ends the day off with their evening shows this is more entertainment as people tend to be home at those times so they would want to listen to something that is enjoyable..
